Chris is the director of Elevated Well-being and an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW). He is passionate about helping people overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, and other challenges they might be experiencing. Chris understands how important it is to feel comfortable and supported when working with a clinician and he provides a warm and welcoming environment for this to take place.
Chris is experienced in a variety of evidence-based and trauma-informed therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
In addition to his clinical work, Chris is also a Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) affiliated researcher and casual academic at the University of Newcastle. Chris completed his Honors Thesis on sustainable and effective grief and loss work, which he presented at Hunter New England Health’s Annual Social Work Conference. Chris holds full membership with the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA) and the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW).
When Chris isn’t working he loves going on adventures with his Irish Wolfhound, watching the NFL, and searching for the best burgers or wings in town!
